Dexter's Christmas for Kids Program
Thursday, January 07, 2010
Submitted by Jean Jacobs Human Services Director Town of Dexter: The program was once again a big success! There should be many happy and warmly dressed children and young adults in Dexter this year.

Due to the generosity of local residents, organizations, businesses, and even people from other towns we were able to provide 38 local children and young adults with a variety of warm clothes, boots, games, and toys. We were also able to provide many of children with stocking stuffer gift bags.

A special “Thanks” goes out to the following:
All the wonderful people that gave donations of money, new clothes, and toys.
The employees of Buds Shop-n- Save, Howard Insurance Company, Maine Highlands Federal Credit Union, Skowhegan Savings Bank, and the Charlotte White Center.
Rich Pfirman and the Plummer Memorial Foundation, The Toys for Tots program, and the Dexter High School Key Club.

Also a big “Thank You” to the Town Office employees that handled a variety of issues so I could focus on the Christmas program and to the hard working women in the Clothes Closet who worked alongside me to organize, package, and distribute the bags for each family.

It is refreshing, especially in these economic times, to see such a high level of caring, generosity, and effort for the young people in our town. Once again, “Thank you” everyone and I hope your holiday is as good as the one you have provided for others.
