Turkey application deadline is January 15
AUGUSTA, Maine - Turkey hunters are reminded that the deadline for submitting their permit application to hunt turkeys this spring is January 15, 2003. Turkey permit applications are available online at www.mefishwildlife.com , at license agents, and all regional headquarters and offices of the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife.

All applications need to be postmarked no late than January 15, 2003, delivered in person to the Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife Augusta headquarters by 5:00 p.m. on January 15, 2003, or submitted via the internet at www.mefishwildlife.com no later than 11:59 p.m. on January 15, 2003.

A total of 12,000 spring wild turkey hunting permits will be issued by random drawing in mid-February. Three percent of the total number of permits will be available to nonresident hunters.
