DEXTER - NCRC held our first meeting of the 2002 season on January 30. We welcomed several members from 2001 and new members to join us for the 2002 season. We had a very busy agenda and would like to keep you all informed. February events will be to participate in the 2002 Dexter Winter-Fest activities. We will begin by participating in the snow sculpture competition starting Feb. 15 at 12:00p.m. All those interested in participating should be at the site, Rt.23, Lake Wassookeag on Friday afternoon and evening. We will continue work on Sat. and they will be judged on Sun. at 10:00a.m. On Saturday, Feb. 16 NCRC will be offering SLEIGH RIDES to the public beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the Dexter High School Track/Football area. Floyd Annis J&S Horses & Livestock will give Rides. Please show your support and join us for a winter sleigh ride. Severe weather date will be Sun. Feb. 17th. March, brings our lease renewal for our ring located at Bud Ellms Field in Dexter. Our lease renewal will be placed on the March Town Council Agenda. Those interested are encouraged to attend. NCRC will then look towards holding several activities throughout the summer. At our January meeting we voted in tentative dates for our 2002
season. They will be as follows: NCRC is also, considering providing year-end awards for show participants as well as offering a competitive trail & driving awards. Interest was raised in the possibility of building a portable building for registrations etc. We will be discussing these issues in the next meeting. NCRC will be creating a club window display in the Town Council Chambers window for the month of May. We hope to display our accomplishments and future events. We had great response to our window display last year and encourage you all to take a moment and see the work,& fun we have all been having. NCRC will continue to distribute our monthly newsletter for all to view. We had an overwhelming response in the Jan. issue and plan to have more copies available for Feb. We usually have the newsletter out by the middle of the next month following a meeting. Please check the Abbott Memorial Library, Town Office and local Tack/Feed stores for your copy. February issue will include classifieds, news and upcoming events. At this time we do have 2 harnesses and a cut-back saddle that has been donated to the club as a fundraiser. If you are interested in these items please call (207) 924-5074. Our next meeting will be held February 27 at 6:30p.m. All those interested are encouraged to attend. We will be confirming dates, class lists, rules etc. This will be a great meeting to attend to voice your opinions. We look forward to seeing you there! Thanks again for your support! |
