Dexter Regional High School plans winter carnival events!
Tuesday, February 7, 2006
During the week of February 13th, Dexter Regional High School will be celebrating winter carnival. This year's theme for the high school is "Winter Carnival Olympics". The schools Student Council Representatives for each class chose the following countries to represent: Jamaica, Scotland, Switzerland and Italy. Beginning Monday morning, there will be a 30 minute opening ceremony where the chosen countries will parade into the gymnasium, carrying the country's flag and their national anthem. Students will be dressed in their countries colors as well! Due to the lack of snow this year, the school will not be doing snow sculptures, unless the weather cooperates!

Some of the events that are planned each day are "mismatch day", "support your country day", "twin day", "hat & sunglasses day", and "red & white day". On Friday afternoon, there will be an assembly in which the students will participate in various activities, some being an "onion pass", "three legged race", "toilet paper roll", "scooter", "wheel barrel", "tug of war", talent show, balloon popping contest, a scavenger hunt, and a pizza eating contest! Events will also take place every day after school, which will include inside floor hockey, indoor soccer, outside volleyball, skiing, tubing and snow shoeing.
