Dexter's WSC Radar Runs and Dance a huge success Tuesday, February 17, 2004
The Wassookeag Snowmobile Club hosted a radar run and dance during Dexter's 2004 Winter Festival on Saturday, February 14th. This was a record breaking year for WSC as they far exceeded the amount of entries by almost double. The racers came from 34 different towns across the state.
Listed were : Dexter, Newport, Ripley, Sangerville, Garland, Harmony, St. Albans, Guilford, Skowhegan, Phillips, Windham, New Vineyard, Gardiner, Lagrange, Pittsfield, Burnham, Arundel, Orrington, Wales, Atkinson, Abbott, Plymouth, Bangor, Hartland, Corinna, Stetson, Carmel, Cornville, Canaan, Brewer, Cornith, Pownal, Ellsworth and Millinocket.
By the day's end, 81 adult racers and 19 junior racers made their way down the Little Lake Wassookeag's 1000 foot ice track, resulting in 261 trips from the starting line.

The "Top Speed of the Day" trophy and $100 cash award went to Bill Sawyer with his 131.2 mph!

Following the Radar Runs, the Wassookeag Snowmobile Club hosted Dexter's 2004 Winter Festival "Valentine's" Dance at the K of C Hall. DJ's Neal Scannell and Chris Libby settled in for the 140 people that filled the hall and danced the night away. The evening held the largest attendance on record for the event.
