Tri-County Technical Center makes local food bank contribution Monday, March 01, 2010
DEXTER--Students at Tri-County Technical Center in Dexter completed a two month-long food drive in January 2010 as part of a community service project.
They collected a total of 922 pounds of food and $58 in contributions, which was donated to the local Food Cupboard in Dexter for distribution in the community.
Each of the ten program areas participated and competed to be the group that brought in the largest number of pounds of food items. The Health Occupations T1 students gathered the most pounds of food (208) and will have a pizza party for their efforts.
A crew from the First Free Baptist Church assisted the students by picking up and delivering the food to the food cupboard.
