By Jessica Bloch of the - Bangor Daily News - BANGOR - Logahn Walker scored 17 points to lead the Mount Abram girls basketball team to a 55-52 victory over Dexter in the Class C state championship game Saturday night at the Bangor Auditorium. Kenni Norton added 15 points as the Roadrunners won their first state crown since 1991. Mount Abram of Strong rallied from a 20-13 first-quarter deficit, outscoring the Tigers 16-7 in the second quarter as Dexter's 6-foot-6 senior center Mallory Ames was out with foul trouble. The Roadrunners forced 24 turnovers while committing just 10. Ames led the Tigers with 18 points, including a 3-pointer she banked in with about six seconds left in the game. |
