Dexter student SAMMY 2007 Semi-Finalist

DEXTER - Quinn Dillon, a senior at Dexter Regional High School has recently been selected as a semi-finalist for the 2007 Scholar Milk Mustache of the Year (SAMMY) award.

Quinn is among other graduating high school student athletes from across the country, who have shown excellence in academics, athletic performance, leadership and community service.

Preliminary judging by a qualified group of educators, coaches and celebrity judges including Andy Roddick, Mia Hamm, Tony Hawn, Michelle Kwan and Jason Kidd will select 25 regional winners. The winners will receive a $7,500 college scholarship, an invitation to attend an awards weekend scheduled for June 22-24, 2007, and an opportunity to be pictured in a special Milk Mustache ad in a June 2007 edition of USA today and other national publications.

The applicants are required to provide proof of excellence in academics and sports, be chosen by peers, teachers and coaches by providing leadership, and must show a significant contribution or an act of citizenship and community service during the past 12 months. Semi-finalists are required to submit additional paperwork on or before April 6, 2007 in order to be considered as one of the three finalists in our local milk region. Once the additional materials are received, winners will be notified on or around May 12, 2007 if they have been selected as one of this years SAMMY award winners.
