Parents & Community Invited to DRHS
Tuesday, March 30, 2010
DEXTER - On Sunday, April 11, 2010 fifteen educators from the New England Association of Schools & Colleges (NEASC) will be on site at Dexter Regional High School as a part of the high schools accreditation process. Over the last year, the DRHS school community has been involved in preparing a self-study document that demonstrates ways in which the school is meeting the “Standards for Accreditation”.

The educators will be at the school over a four day period, from April 11th to the 14th, reviewing the schools mission and expectations, written curriculum and course offerings, classroom learning activities, instructional materials, the daily schedule and the ways in which the school facility supports teaching and learning.

An important component of the four day visit is time designated for parents and members of the community. Parents of students will be invited to meet with the educators from the Association and asked to discuss the school's programs and services and share their thoughts about their student's experiences at the high school.

On Sunday, April 11th at 1:30 PM there will be a panel presentation in the cafeteria which parents and community members are encouraged to attend. At approximately 2:30 PM there will be a parent meeting with the visiting committee and all parents are invited to attend. Information gathered during those meetings will be shared with the entire visiting committee and incorporated into the schools evaluation report.

Dexter Regional High School looks forward to this experience and sincerely appreciates the parent's and community involvement in the on-site visit.
