WHEREAS: Carl worked in area woolen Mills and retail stores in N.H. until 1942 when he joined the United States Navy for four years and four days; and WHEREAS: In 1946 Carl married Louise Dunton and they came to Maine where he went to work at Wyandotte in Waterville and in 1950, Louise and Carl came to Dexter where he went to work at Fay & Scott for 6 years; and WHEREAS: the next 13 years found Carl maintaining a home in Dexter while working in Nashua N.H. Carl retired in 1972 and came “home” to Dexter; where he has lived ever since; and WHEREAS: Carl has been very active in every community in which he has lived. He is a member of the Free Masons, VFW, American Legion, Odd Fellow, Anah Shrine Royal Arch Chapter; Dover-Foxcroft, and Penobscot Lodge #39 Masonic Order of Dexter; and WHEREAS: Carl has been a member of the Anah Band, Fay & Scott Band and while in N.H. he played in the American Legion Band; and WHEREAS: Carl loves to read and stays active in the community and he plays organ for Penobscot Lodge #39 Masonic Order, and WHEREAS: Carl continues to mow his own lawn and still drives his own vehicle; therefore be it RESOLVED: that we, the members of the Dexter Town Council, on behalf of the Citizens of the Town of Dexter, take this opportunity to congratulate Mary on her life-long accomplishments and contributions to the Town of Dexter.
