The program will cover how to identify minors and visibly intoxicated person, intervention to prevent a visibly intoxicated person from driving, how alcohol is ingested and metabolized by the body, what alcoholism is and how alcohol affects the body, false identification detection and good carding policy, the importance of good written serving policies and the Liquor Liability Act.

Frank Lyon, of BC Consultants, a twenty-three year veteran of Liquor Licensing Enforcement will lead the training and is a certified instructor with the Maine Criminal Academy. This training is a Maine Office of Substance Abuse approved training and will help retailers prevent costly violations and civil suites, instill more confidence in alcohol servers and potentially reduce Liquor Liability Insurance premiums (dependant upon insurance carrier approval).
