Service Dog Trainer to present at Dexter Library
Thursday, June 18, 2009
DEXTER - Lynn Boulier of Tail Waggin' will present a program on the training of service dogs at 10 A.M. on Saturday June 27th at the Abbott Memorial Library in Dexter.

Lynn & Robert Boulier founders of Tail Waggin Training Center in Levant have trained dogs since 1984.

Service dogs are trained to aid in daily tasks we sometimes take for granted. Some people need help opening doors, reaching light switches, removing clothes and fetching items.

Other folks may need help with balance support, emotional comfort and retrieval help. These dogs provide greater independence in a very independent world.

The training of service dogs takes a minimum of 14 to 16 months. Dogs are not matched with clients until they have finished training and ready for placement.

This program is being offered as part of the library's summer reading program, but is open to any member of the public. FMI call the library at 924-7292.
