A little more about Big Daddy O and the Accelerators -
Rhythm guitarist Mike Brooks owns the Brewster Inn with his wife, Ivy. Steeped in the traditions of Merle Travis and Chet Atkins, Mike has followed the road back to his love of rock and roll roots and the Ventures as he provides solid rhythm for Tartachney's lead guitar. One of Mike's guitar students, John Lilly, became rhythm guitarist for the popular rock group, the Hooters.
Drummer Albert, "Mountain Man" Merrick has played with rock and country bands throughout New England. He got his start in high school and has been playing ever since. He has worked with Dick Curliss, among others, providing a solid beat that keeps everyone's toes tapping and fingers snapping.
Bass guitarist Shelagh Talbot has played throughout the United States, Europe and Japan as a single act with vocals and guitar. Her favorite past gigs were in Osaka, Japan and Las Vegas at the old Dunes casino. She writes and sings her own material but with Big Daddy O's band, she provides the old rock and roll bass riffs for that authentic 50s and 60s sound.
Rain venue: Ready Workers Community House located on the corner of Lakeview and Pritham Avenue. This concert is open to the public. Donations for the concert series are welcomed and appreciated!
