DEXTER - A public dinner will be held from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Saturday, October 4, at the American Legion Hall, 15 Grove St, Dexter to raise funds for the Dexter Energy Committee's upcoming town-wide weatherization project. The price of the dinner of casseroles, salads, breads, desserts and drinks is by donation. Proceeds from the dinner will be used to fund next month's Weatherization Weekend, scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 11 and 12, Columbus Day weekend. Anyone who would like to be sure to have their house added to the list of homes canvassed should call Jean Jacobs at the Dexter Town Office at 924-7351 as soon as possible. Members of the Key Club from Dexter Regional High School will be assisting at the weekend's event. Any group or individuals who would like to help out or who can help serve and provide food for the volunteers should call Lorraine Gelzinis at 924-5990 as soon as possible. Monetary donations are also needed to help with the Columbus Day weekend event, as well as to help fund future weatherization projects for residents.
