DOVER-FOXCROFT - The Mayo Regional Hospital Auxiliary will present its annual variety show on Friday, Oct. 10, at 7 p.m. at the Center Theatre in Dover-Foxcroft. Admission will be $10, with children under 6 admitted for half price. All proceeds will help the Auxiliary reach its goal of raising $31,500 to purchase a new EKG machine for the hospital's Cardiopulmonary Services Department. Zevulon is the show's headline act, with band members from the Maynard family offering a mix of country, bluegrass and gospel music. Mother Deb Maynard, sisters Clarissa and Rachel, and brothers Robert and Joshua create a rich sound with vocal harmonies, guitar, fiddle, banjo, mandolin, bass and saxophone. The Penquis Valley Middle School "Aristocrats" from Milo, fourth-, fifth- and sixth-graders under the direction of Stephanie Gillis, will be the opening act. Also featured will be "Fishers of Men," a contemporary Christian musical group from Palmyra. Homemade refreshments will be on sale during intermission. |
