“Having been in nursing for 32 years and caring for close relatives during their end of life, I couldn’t imagine what more I would learn by taking this training last spring,” said Karen Dow, CRNA. “I was so surprised how rich, deep and meaningful every segment was. The information presented took me to a whole new level of caring and compassion. I want to learn even more!”

The vision of Pine Tree Hospice is to be seen as a valuable resource not only for clients, but also for families, friends, and the entire community regarding care at the end of life and bereavement. PTH is always in need of additional volunteers to provide friendship and companionship through non-medical, emotional and spiritual support to hospice clients and their caregivers. Hospice volunteers offer help, make meals, build ramps, help with household chores, offer friendship, companionship and bereavement support to clients’ families. Volunteers are people of all ages, faiths and walks of life who serve clients in their community, depending on their availability.

PTH would like to encourage more men to consider how they might participate. There is an urgent need for more volunteers from the Dexter and Milo areas to serve PTH families in those areas. PTH would welcome any opportunity to make a presentation to your church, community group or organization.
