DEXTER - Two Character Education classes headed by Sarah Hooke at Dexter Regional High School are combining efforts to raise a combined goal of $10,000 by Friday, January 23rd for the Make-a-Wish Foundation.

The project began on Thursday, October 9th by Pattie Gallant, an event coordinator for the organization. Pattie spoke to the Character Education classes and shared the vision of the foundation which is that it seeks to grant the wishes of two children living with life-threatening illnesses and to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.

The classes are planning on purchasing an Old Town Canoe which they will sell tickets for during lunches at school and at the Bangor Mall on Sunday, January 4th. Area businesses and individuals have donated funds and additional items for the raffle. Raffle tickets cost $1 each. To purchase tickets or to make a donation contact Sarah Hooke at Dexter Regional High School at 924-5536, extension #229 or e-mail Shooke@msad46.org.
