 DEXTER - The Abbott Memorial Library Trustees and staff members at the Abbott Memorial Library in Dexter are reminding area bakers that now is the time to pick up those special ingredients for holiday fruitcakes.
Fruitcake fanciers know that fruitcake always tastes better when made several weeks before serving. Library staff will be slicing and serving fruitcakes baked by area bakers on Saturday, December 10th at 2 PM as part of the library's fourth Annual Fruitcake Fanciers Bake-Off. Prizes will be award for First Place($25), Second Place($15) and Third Place($10). If the winning recipe comes out of a cookbook owned by the library, the prize money will be doubled.
