DEXTER - Mayo Regional Hospital is currently deciding on a site for a new, combined ambulance facility serving both Dexter and Corinna.

Mayo maintains the municipal ambulance services for both towns. With each town experiencing problems related to obsolete ambulance facilities, the hospital hopes to combine both units into one, three-bay facility.

Mayo is looking at lots along Route 7, straddling the Dexter-Corinna town line, stretching no more that a half-mile from each other. One of the lots is in Corinna, and the other in Dexter, said Tom Lizotte of Mayo Hospital. The Dexter lot is around $30,000 more that the Corinna lot, but there are other considerations, he said.
